Act of Adoration

This brief act appears in traditional Catholic catechism and prayer-book collections, including prayer appendices used with the Baltimore Catechism. It expresses adoration, the worship owed to God alone, together with wholehearted love for Him. Catholics use it to acknowledge God’s supreme goodness and majesty and to place themselves lovingly in His presence. It is especially fitting at the beginning of morning or evening prayers, before meditation, during a visit to the Blessed Sacrament, or whenever the heart wishes to turn simply and reverently toward God.

When to pray it: Pray it at the beginning of daily prayer or whenever you wish to make a simple act of worship and love of God.
