Terms

Plain terms for using AskCatholic.

The service

AskCatholic provides an AI companion for learning about and practicing the Catholic faith, plus a library of prayers and reference material. It is offered by AskCatholic ("we"). By using it you agree to these terms.

Not the Church, not a priest

AskCatholic is an independent project. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or speaking for the Catholic Church, any diocese, or any religious order. It has no imprimatur. Answers can be wrong. It cannot administer sacraments, give binding moral or canonical rulings, or replace pastoral care. For anything that matters, consult a priest and the Church's own documents.

Not professional advice

Nothing here is medical, legal, financial, or psychological advice. If you are in crisis, contact emergency services or a crisis line (988 in the United States).

Accounts and plans

You are responsible for your account. Paid plans are billed monthly through Stripe and renew until canceled. You can cancel anytime from Settings; your plan continues to the end of the current period. Weekly usage limits apply to every plan and reset each Monday. We may change prices or plan features with notice.

Acceptable use

Do not use the service to produce blasphemous, sacrilegious, hateful, or unlawful content, to harass anyone, to attempt to extract or reverse-engineer the underlying systems, or to overload the service. We may suspend accounts that do.

Content

You own what you type. You grant us the right to process it to provide the service. Prayer texts and traditional material on the site are in the public domain or used under fair use; daily readings are © USCCB and linked to their source. Our original writing is © AskCatholic.

Warranty and liability

The service is provided as is. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, and our liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the 30 days before the claim arose.

Changes

We may update these terms. Continued use after an update means you accept it.
